History
KSC Wiedikon was founded in 1982 in Zurich's Wiedikon district as a dedicated volleyball club. A group of enthusiastic athletes from the neighbourhood came together to pursue their shared passion. What began with a single men's team in the lowest league quickly grew into a staple of Zurich's recreational sports scene. In its early years, the club was able to steadily build new teams thanks to committed members and strong youth development.
In the early 1990s, KSC Wiedikon expanded its offering to include basketball — a step that would leave a lasting mark on the club. The combination of two indoor sports under one roof proved unique in Zurich and attracted a growing number of members over the years. Today, KSC Wiedikon counts over 300 active members in more than 20 teams, from regional leagues to recreational sport, making it one of the largest multi-sport clubs in Zurich's District 3. The close ties to the Wiedikon neighbourhood, the family-like atmosphere, and the passion for sport remain the foundation of the club.
